(Disclaimer: am not trying to show off or anything, just sharing my 7 years of experience. And these tips may not work for everyone). Advice for Part-time jobs for students. These strategies worked for me and may not work for every one. I will also ask ppl to share their stories so everyone learns or benefits from them. Before I start, a very wise person (my father) advised me when you go to Aus dont work where other desi students work. (I was very skeptical of that statement), but he had years of experience living all over the world, so I didn't argue. Boy, that was the best piece (one line) advice I have ever got! So when I came to Aus, I quickly figured out that most desi students: 1. Work with Desies (specially on cash). 2. They work at 7/11 or fuel stations. 3. Restaurant/food industry. Let me elaborate so there are no misconceptions. I am all for working with desies in professional jobs.
