Part 5 - Post study alternate pathway for PR in NT

Pathway for PR (International students who finished/finishing their studies or on 485)
Now I have had a lot of queries from students who have done IT, Accounting or Engg but struggling to get 75 to 80 points for PR. I can assure them they are treading on thin ice. They are wasting their time on PY, NAATI etc.
They need to know one rule in life " When demand is high, supply becomes short," the same rule applies for PR. If you follow the mob then you will never get PR as the ceiling will get filled quickly. If you have extrodinary English or sure you can get 80 point then do it, otherwise do what I tell you to do for a guaranteed PR.
Now, this is what the Desi student mentality is "Sir, tell me a course which is cheap, has 100% PR, and I dont have to study much" Ok, so I will make it halva for you!!
Here is what you need to do:
As soon as you finish your final exam, follow these steps
1. Move to Darwin
2. Take admission in Cert IV (Hair Dressing) in CDU, cost $14,000 - pay it in installments.
3. HairDressing is in NT PR list.
4. As soon as you finish, I guarantee you that you will find a job in NT. In Australia a full time hairdresser makes around $70-80k a year and there is a shortage in this field.
5. Work 6 months there.
6. You will get 100% 489 or 190.
In total this will cost you only $14k to get the PR.
What I need in return for this advice:
Once you get your PR and are settled in Aus, take responsibity of 1 paki student when he/she comes to Aus guide them and look after them till they are settled. Once they are ask them to pass the batton.
Adious,
Any questions, post on comments, no inbox as I want all to benefit.
P.S. Barber is an example, there are other occupation trade related like welder, ship repairer, draftsperson etc that can be accessed in NT
*Please do not take my advise as a final word. Do your own research. I am not a consultant.
Regards,
Najeeb

Advice for Success - Part 4 - Post study / Post PR professional job hunt

On popular demand, here comes the part 4 to complete the student success series in Aus.  So far what have I covered: Part 1: Overview on how you can be successful as a student in Aus. General guide. Part 2: Part time jobs Part 3: Pre-Aus arrival survival guide on do's and don't However if you have made to Aus, survived your student life, not drowned, eaten up by a shark or a croc (including human Crocs), beaten depression, and survived loneliness then this is the post for you. Ok, so I will start off with my story, reason is that it shows struggle, perseverance and strategy. These are attributes for success in my opinion. Although I come from a field of Medical science and Research, however, this can be applied to any successful job hunt with minor tweaks according to your field. So here we go, it was July 2015 and I was in the final semester of my PhD (Sports Medicine and Exercise Science). As soon as I finish the degree, I become a Sports Scientist, yaayyyy!!!...

ADVICE FOR SUCCESS - Part 1 (Guide for New Students / New Comers).

After all the negative banter about Australia, I thought will be good to share some positive experiences of Pakistani student success in Australia. (Disclaimer: am not trying to show off or anything, just sharing my 7 years of experience. And these tips may not work for everyone). A bit about myself, I am a Doctor and came to Aus in 2011 to do a Masters in Public Health. I later did a PhD (Sports Medicine) and am currently am a Lecturer with The University of Sydney. I also own a Sports Technology company  www.cricdoc.com.au   I have worked with many international teams as a Medical staff such as Australian Soccer Team (Socceroos), FIFA (South Asian Teams), Cricket Australia, ICC, NRL (Australia), Cricket Victoria etc. I got my PR without having an occupation in the SOL by regional employer sponsorship. I come from a middle class family, but some hard work and strategy has help me get where I am. Tips for success: 1. Have good written and spoken English. ...

ADVICE FOR SUCCESS - Part 2 (Part time jobs)

Advice for Part-time jobs for students. These strategies worked for me and may not work for every one. I will also ask ppl to share their stories so everyone learns or benefits from them. Before I start, a very wise person (my father) advised me when you go to Aus dont work where other desi students work. (I was very skeptical of that statement), but he had years of experience living all over the world, so I didn't argue. Boy, that was the best piece (one line) advice I have ever got! So when I came to Aus, I quickly figured out that most desi students: 1. Work with Desies (specially on cash). 2. They work at 7/11 or fuel stations. 3. Restaurant/food industry. Let me elaborate so there are no misconceptions. I am all for working with desies in professional jobs. However,  part -time casual work which involves cash in hand and no contract - I still recommend avoiding Desi'es for new students. My justifications are: 1. They usually don't pay u market...
